Journaling daily is the most potent and powerful keystone habit that you can develop. Keeping a journal has many positive benefits. Journal writing can help with personal growth and development, problem solving, and stress reduction.
Keeping a daily journal can show up better in every aspect of your life. By keeping a journal since her dad and I separated has literally kept me sane enough to not go into an absolute emotional rollercoaster!
Journaling reduces stress, increases focus, gives you greater stability, gives you the ability to detach and let go of the past, and let’s you re-experience the past in today’s mind frame. When you are in an interesting or emotional mood, journaling can help you more experience and understand those emotions & moods, as well as how to deal with them.
We are all bad at retaining information, we forget most of what w read and hear. By writing down the stuff you have learned, you retain it way better- right?
Gratitude- even starting a journal entry while in a fucked up mood, the writing will shift your mind into gratitude. So much that you may have to put your pen down to take breathes.
Want to start a journal? There are many options as for what to use to write in. I am a super Happy Planner Addict and have incorporated my journal into my planner.
There are planner’s everywhere! Kate Spade makes some really beautiful, well put together planners- but you can even find them in the dollar store or on Etsy.
You can first start writing about where you are in life at this moment, mentally & physically. Describe living situation, work and relationships. Are you where you want to be? Explain. If not, explain where you want to be and what your current goals are. You can also give your goals a “goal date”- and if you are journaling in your awesome Happy Planner, go ahead and mark that date n your calendar and add a cute littl planner sticker.
Maintain success logs, song playlists, and anything that you may be struggling with mentally or physically. Hey, try writing about that in third-person…… just to see how it goes.
Develop an intuition, write questions and concerns. BREATHE ! Then go ahead and answer those questions coming from a view of your higher self. If you can’t answer them right away- take a day or so to come up with an answer- and see what’s up.
Everyone has bad days. Everyone has bad or negative moods. We all have some sort of anxiety at some poin and time in our lives. By using your journal to explore this darkness……… you may just find your inner light.
